At Horizon Schools, we offer a unique bonding experience for learners from Grade 8 to Grade 11. Organized by their Form/Class educators, students participate in sleepovers on the school premises every year. These sessions are designed to foster valuable discussions, collaborative study sessions, and the opportunity to build strong connections with peers and educators.
By stepping outside their everyday routine, students embrace the challenge of becoming comfortable with the unfamiliar, which promotes self-realization and personal growth. This change in environment enhances their learning experience, allowing them to thrive in a new setting.
As part of Horizon Schools’ commitment to strengthening the relationship between teachers, parents, and learners, we invite parents to open their homes for house visits. These visits create a welcoming space for teachers to engage in friendly conversations with families, gaining insight into the students’ background and study environments. This fosters deeper understanding and strengthens the partnership between school and home.
Our Big Sister – Little Sister program pairs older students with younger ones, creating a mentorship bond that supports personal and academic development. The program offers guidance, encouragement, and leadership opportunities, helping students build confidence and navigate their educational journey with the support of their peers.
Every week, during lunch breaks, our dedicated class teachers engage with students in a relaxed and friendly “Tea Time” session. This provides an opportunity for students to unwind, share thoughts, and receive personal guidance. It’s a time for building connections and fostering open communication, where students can feel supported both academically and personally.
