Activities

Star College offers learners the best schooling experience possible with many activities and after school curricular.

Inter House Activities

As a part of our holistic approach to education, we aim to equip and encourage our learners to be involved in various non-academic activities.

Inter House activities which range from athletics to drama, from chess to art contests are taking place throughout the year.

Learners are placed into 4 houses and compete with each other for the humble awards presented at the end of each term.

Outreach

Star Helping Hands is a charity group formed in 2017 by the social committee of Star College Girls High School. The committee is run by the learners and is convened by Ms M Fortein, along with the help of other educators and staff members.

The social committee consists of a chairperson, secretary, treasurer, 4 social prefects and 2 grade representatives.

The purpose of the committee is to create a social community within the school through means of organizing social & recreational events and fundraisers.

We also aim to promote charity work through having long term and short term charity drives. Charity drives often range from book collections to grocery and toiletry drives. Learners are also given the opportunity to volunteer of their time to help with events such as sandwich drives.

Some of our charity work includes grocery drives for children’s homes, sandwich drives as well as supporting other organisations such as CHOC and League of friends of the Blind.

All the work done by the Star Helping Hands runs throughout the course of the school year in conjunction with fundraising events. Fundraising events include themed civvies days and stalls on fun days along with many other events.

It is important to have a well-balanced life and therefore the social committee aims to help in doing so by arranging for events where learners can get their minds of academics for a while. We aim to do as much as we can and involving as many learners as possible!
